SCGMA Webinar: 5 Secrets to Healthier Cash Flow for Subcontractors

As a subcontractor, you’re constantly financing your clients’ projects. You’re funding the job and doing the work before you’re paid. And getting paid isn’t easy. Only 5% of subcontractors report always being paid on time, and the average time to get paid in construction is 90 days. It’s time to buck the status quo! In this session, Claire Wilson will share best practices and strategies for getting paid faster and better managing cash flow on projects.

Date: Thursday, June 27, 2024
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm PST
Location: Via Zoom
Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and address the main causes of payment delays
  • Detect billing red flags and intervene and manage associated financial risks
  • Optimize change order management
  • Create an A/R escalation plan
  • Properly manage cash flow on public vs. private projects as well as PLA vs. non-PLAs
  • Implement billing projections and cash flow forecasts

Presenter: Claire Wilson, Head of Construction Solutions at Siteline

SitelineClaire Wilson is Head of Construction Solutions at Siteline, the only A/R management software built for trade contractors. Previously, Claire was a project manager at Tishman Construction in New York City, where she worked on monumental projects like Hudson Yards and JP Morgan’s Corporate Headquarters. Her experience there gave Claire a direct view into how construction billing works and why trade contractors need software specific to their workflows. Claire has a BS in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. She lives in San Francisco and serves on the Bay Area Subcontractors Association (BASA) board. She is an active member of CFMA and has spoken at multiple regional conferences including the Southeastern, Lone Star, and Carolinas conferences. In her free time, you can catch Claire running across the Golden Gate Bridge, enjoying all of San Francisco’s incredible restaurants, or watching sports—especially the Patriots.
